ABOUT

Hannah O’Reilly is an Irish actor, director, and Theatremaker from Galway, with a special interest in devising.

She is a Theatre graduate of NUIG, and Bow Street Screen Acting Academy, and has trained in many Theatre styles such as Commedia, Physical Theatre, and Stanislavsky. She is an award winning comedic actress, and has honed her career making original ensemble-based work, as a performer, and director.

Hannah was most recently a participant in the Dublin Theatre Festival Slingshot Residency 2024 with lead artist Conor Kennedy Burke, and directed and worked as dramaturg on a work in progress for actor and comedian Stephen Colfer. She has been awarded the Strand 2 2023 Theatre Project Award for the development of a new play with Once Off Productions, under the guidance of Annie Ryan and Donnachadh O’Briain. In 2022, she directed a shortlisted story for BBC Radio1’s Young Writers Award, and received the Agility Award for her writing. She was a part of the inaugural Abbey Begins writing workshops in 2018, and was awarded the first ever Druid Fuel bursary with ThereisBear Theatre in 2014; a company which she founded.

Hannah’s work is highly visual, and playful in form. She creates highly atmospheric pieces that merge image and movement, and cut to the heart of the characters. She draws from auto-biographical and universal experiences to explore the emotions found in themes varying from feminism, to family, to the climate.
